Some people leave a mark you can’t measure. John “JR” Gaudet was one of those people. He was the kind of man who showed up-for his family, for his team, for his community. A devoted husband to Felly, a proud father of three, and a coach who gave his time, energy, and heart to the kids in this community.​ Whether it was lacrosse, basketball, or football, JR wasn’t just teaching the game, he was building confidence, character, and connection.

On February 12, 2025, JR gave his life in the line of duty while serving the Binghamton community he loved so deeply.

But who he was doesn’t end there. You can still see him in the way a kid picks up a stick, steps onto a field, or believes in themselves a little more because someone gave them a chance.

The JR Gaudet Foundation was created to carry that forward- to give more kids the opportunity to play, grow, and be part of something bigger. Because that’s what JR did every single day. And that’s what we’ll continue to do in his name.
